Where we draw the line

What we don't do.

Mystery shopping attracts scammers. Here's exactly how to tell us apart from them.

×
We never ask you for money.

No application fees, no training fees, no "starter kit" to buy. Nothing, ever.

×
We don't mail checks to cash.

Real assignments never involve depositing a check and wiring part of it back.

×
We don't promise income.

Assignment volume depends on client demand in your area and changes month to month.

×
We don't cold-message you.

If you never applied, we never contacted you. Forward anything suspicious our way.

!

If someone claiming to be Grocery Shopper asks you to deposit a check, buy gift cards, wire money, or pay any fee — it's a scam, not us.

Report it at reportfraud.ftc.gov and forward the message to report@secretshopper.site.

Questions

Before you apply.

The ones we hear most. Email us if yours isn't here.

Is this a job?

No. Grocery Shopper is an independent contractor program. We are not your employer, and this does not come with employee benefits. You're responsible for your own taxes on anything we pay you.

How much can I earn?

We don't make income promises. Pay per visit varies by location, complexity, and any reimbursable purchase. Assignment volume depends on client demand in your area and can vary month to month.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. Applying, onboarding, and accessing assignments are all free. We will never ask you for money for any reason. If anyone claiming to represent us does, it's a scam — please report it.

How do I get paid?

By direct deposit on a posted payment schedule, after your report is reviewed and accepted. We never pay by mailed check, gift card, wire, or cryptocurrency.

Do you work with grocery brands directly?

Yes. If you represent a grocery or retail brand interested in our evaluation program, email brands@secretshopper.site and our team will follow up.

How do I report a suspicious message?

Forward it to report@secretshopper.site and file a report at reportfraud.ftc.gov. Don't respond to the sender, deposit any check they sent, or send them money.
